Manchester United Negotiates Joshua Zirkzee Loan to Juventus

Manchester United are deep in negotiations with Juventus over a deal that could see Joshua Zirkzee leave Old Trafford on loan with an option to buy this summer, as the Italian club move quickly after missing out on Randal Kolo Muani.

According to British outlet The Sun, Juventus have identified Zirkzee as their leading centre-forward target after talks for Kolo Muani collapsed. The France international had been close to a move from Paris Saint-Germain following a disappointing loan spell at Tottenham, but the two clubs failed to find agreement on the financial terms, forcing Juventus to look elsewhere.

They did not look for long.

Zirkzee’s camp have responded positively to Juventus’ proposal, the report states, and discussions between the clubs have now reached an advanced stage. United are prepared to sanction a loan with an option to buy set at around £30 million, despite paying roughly £36.5 million to bring the Dutchman to Manchester in 2024.

Inside Old Trafford, there is a growing acceptance that the fee reflects his current market value. Zirkzee has not delivered the consistency United expected, and his role has steadily diminished under Ruben Amorim and Michael Carrick. Last season he started only five Premier League matches, slipping down the pecking order as United reshaped their attack.

The numbers tell their own story. Since joining the club, Zirkzee has scored just nine goals in 75 appearances in all competitions. At 25, he still carries clear potential, but United appear ready to cash in if Juventus trigger the option at the end of the loan.

Interest in the forward is strong across Europe this summer, yet Juventus are firmly in pole position. Their need for a reliable No 9 is acute, and Zirkzee fits both their age profile and tactical requirements. Once the Kolo Muani deal stalled, the focus in Turin moved quickly and decisively to the United striker.

For Zirkzee, the move would not be a step into the unknown. Italian football is familiar territory. He previously spent a season on loan with Parma and then two seasons with Bologna, experiences that helped shape his reputation in Serie A and proved he can adapt to the demands of the league.

He is understood to be open to the switch, attracted by the prospect of regular minutes at the Allianz Stadium and a central role in Juventus’ rebuild.

If the final details fall into place, United will lose a forward who never quite found his rhythm in England, and Juventus may gain a striker with unfinished business in Italy.
