Watford Sign Spain Starlet Iker Bravo in Bold Move

Watford have moved decisively in the market, signing Spain Under-21 forward Iker Bravo from Udinese on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

This is not a speculative punt on potential. Bravo arrives with a serious youth pedigree. Only last summer he was named player of the tournament as Spain lifted the 2024 Uefa Under-19 Championship, a stage where many of Europe’s sharpest young forwards first announce themselves.

Born and schooled in the Barcelona system, Bravo came through La Masia, the academy that shaped a generation of Spanish greats. From there, his path has already taken in some of the continent’s most demanding environments. He joined Bayer Leverkusen in 2021, then spent time on loan at Real Madrid B, working inside two clubs that expect technical excellence and tactical discipline from their attackers.

Udinese picked him up in 2024 and used him regularly. Bravo made 37 appearances in all competitions for the Italian side last season, scoring three goals. The numbers are modest, but the volume of games at 21 tells its own story: coaches trust his work without the ball as much as what he can produce with it.

“Iker is a promising young talent,” Nani said. “His development at Real Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen and with the Spanish national teams speaks for itself. We are confident he will be a valuable addition to the squad and bring new attacking options to the team.”

That last line is the key. Watford have been searching for fresh ideas in the final third, for someone who can link play, stretch defences and grow with the club. Bravo fits that brief. He is young, tested in three major football cultures, and already used to the pressure that comes with the Spain shirt.
