Lamine Yamal's Night of Glory and Home Intrusion
The night Lamine Yamal booked his place in a World Cup final ended with sirens, security alerts and a dash of real fear back home.
Just hours after the National Team star helped his country reach the grand final, two hooded intruders tried to break into his house in Esplugues de Llobregat in the early hours of the morning.
It was around four o’clock when private security staff, hired by the Barça player, spotted suspicious movement on the surveillance cameras. Two figures in balaclavas were seen climbing the wall of the property, attempting to gain access under cover of darkness.
They didn’t get far.
The moment they realised they had been detected, the would-be burglars abandoned the attempt, bolted from the scene and disappeared into the night before they could be confronted.
The security team immediately alerted the Mossos d'Esquadra. The Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) has taken charge of the case, which is currently being treated as an attempted burglary with force.
For Lamine Yamal, it was a stark reminder that life at the top brings attention from all sides – not just from defenders on the pitch.
