Real Madrid move on two fronts: Diomande and Rodri

City manager Enzo Maresca addressed Rodri’s situation on Friday, confirming the midfielder has undergone back surgery and will be absent for an unspecified period. The injury clouds City’s plans and adds a layer of complexity to any potential deal, but it has not stopped Europe’s heavyweights from circling.

PSG have joined the chase. The French champions, who had not initially earmarked central midfield as a priority, have been alerted by Rodri’s contract situation. With just one year left on his deal, the 28-year-old has suddenly become a market opportunity that is hard to ignore. PSG have made contact with City to explore the terms of a possible transfer and are now weighing up whether to strike.

Darwin Nunez edges toward Besiktas

In Turkey, Besiktas are closing in on a notable attacking reinforcement. Journalist Sacha Tavolieri reports that Darwin Nunez is nearing an agreement on personal terms to move from Al-Hilal to the Istanbul club during this window.
