Arsenal Women Squad Number Changes for 2026/27
Arsenal Women have shuffled the numbers on their backs – and the changes say plenty about where this team is heading in 2026/27.
The club has confirmed that four first-team players will wear new squad numbers next season, with a goalkeeper taking on the shirt that carries the most weight of all, and a forward stepping into the classic centre-forward jersey.
New Squad Numbers
Daphne van Domselaar will wear No 1, a clear statement of her status between the posts. The Dutch international now assumes the traditional goalkeeper’s number, the one that has long signalled the first choice, the standard-bearer, the last line.
Up the pitch, Caitlin Foord moves to No 9. It is the striker’s number, the finisher’s number, and it now sits on the back of one of Arsenal’s most versatile and dangerous attackers. For a player who can drift wide, drop in, or run in behind, it underlines her central role in the club’s attacking plans.
Olivia Smith takes No 11, another shirt steeped in attacking history. Once the preserve of touchline-hugging wingers, it now belongs to a new-generation forward who can hurt teams in multiple ways. It is a number that hints at creativity, goals, and responsibility in the final third.
Rising talent Michelle Agyemang moves to No 17, a number that has often belonged to important squad players ready to step in and make an impact. For a young player pushing for more minutes, it feels like a step up, a marker of growing trust and expectation.
For supporters, the club has tried to soften the practical blow of the reshuffle. Fans who have already bought 2026/27 jerseys with the old numbers through Arsenal Direct can request a free refund. Those who picked up their shirts in person at the Armoury or Highbury stores are also covered: bring the jersey back with proof of purchase and it can be exchanged, free of charge, for one bearing the new number.
Shirts can be replaced. Numbers can change. What matters now is how these four wear them when the season starts.
