Liverpool Signs Khiara Keating as Goalkeeper
Liverpool FC Women have moved decisively in the transfer market, securing goalkeeper Khiara Keating on a permanent deal after the expiry of her contract at Manchester City.
At 22, Keating already carries the air of a seasoned professional. She made her senior debut at just 17, emerging from City’s academy with a reputation for composure, sharp reflexes and a willingness to command her box. That early breakthrough has been backed up by international recognition, with the keeper progressing through England’s youth ranks before stepping up to the senior Lionesses side and making her debut in October 2025.
Her switch to Liverpool comes with an intriguing twist: she reunites with head coach Gareth Taylor, under whom she previously worked at City. The familiarity between coach and goalkeeper should strip away the usual settling-in period and give Liverpool an immediate, authoritative presence between the posts.
Keating becomes Liverpool’s fourth new arrival of the summer, another clear sign that the club is not interested in standing still. They are building something, piece by piece, and a goalkeeper of her pedigree is rarely just a squad addition. She is the kind of signing around whom a defensive unit can be shaped.
A new chapter on Merseyside now awaits a keeper who has already crammed plenty into a young career. How far can she push Liverpool – and herself – from here?
