Peter Shalulile Joins Young Africans After Mamelodi Sundowns

Peter Shalulile has chosen a familiar face for the next chapter of his career.

The Namibia international, fresh from ending a decorated six-year spell with Mamelodi Sundowns, walked into free agency with no shortage of admirers. At 32, with medals and goals behind him, he remained one of the most coveted forwards on the continent, drawing strong interest from clubs across Africa and the Middle East.

For a time, the script seemed written. A reunion with Rhulani Mokwena at Pyramids FC looked the likeliest move, a logical extension of a partnership that had flourished in South Africa and caught the eye across the CAF landscape.

Then came the twist.

Shalulile turned away from Egypt and instead headed for Dar es Salaam, choosing Young Africans and a different reunion – this time with Manqoba Mngqithi, newly installed at the Tanzanian giants.

Mngqithi and Shalulile know exactly what they are getting in each other. Their years together at Chloorkop yielded success, structure and a striker operating at his ruthless best. That shared history now shifts to a new stage, with Yanga betting that an old alliance can ignite fresh dominance in East Africa.
