Besiktas Makes Final Offer to Mohamed Salah Amid Istanbul Transfer Talks

Besiktas have pushed their pursuit of Mohamed Salah as far as they are prepared to go. Now they wait – along with the rest of Europe – for the Egyptian’s answer.

Club president Serdal Adali has confirmed that the Turkish side have submitted what he describes as a final, official proposal to the former Liverpool forward after weeks of negotiations.

“As has been published in the media, we have for some time been conducting negotiations with Salah and his representatives regarding the details of the deal,” Adali told Turkish outlet Ortacizgi, lifting the curtain on talks that have rumbled on through the window.

The discussions, he explained, moved into a decisive phase as both parties circled around the last remaining demands.

“In the final stage, we discussed the demands of the player and his representatives from all angles, and after mutual negotiations, we submitted our final official offer. We also asked them to inform us of their decision within a short period.”

The pressure, in other words, is now on Salah’s camp. Besiktas have drawn their line.

Adali stressed that the club’s broader recruitment drive remains aggressive, but made it clear that the Salah chase has reached a natural crossroads.

“While our transfer work continues at full force, this is the current situation regarding Salah. We have assessed the amendments requested since the start of the negotiations, in line with the club's interests, and we have submitted our final offer.

“Now the decision lies with the player,” he concluded.

That decision carries weight. Salah has been consistently linked with a move to Besiktas throughout the current window, his name never far from the Istanbul rumour mill. The prospect of a marquee arrival to light up Vodafone Park has energised the fanbase, but the club hierarchy is keen to show it will not be dragged beyond its limits.

According to reliable Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, Besiktas have already reached agreement on all personal terms with Salah and his agent. The proposal on the table is a one-year contract, reportedly worth up to 12 million euros.

The structure is there. The money is there. The offer, Besiktas insist, will not be improved.

Now the Turkish giants can only wait to see whether one of the defining forwards of the modern era chooses to make Istanbul his next stage.
